All About The Bridesmaids

I cannot believe that Baxter and I have been married for 6 months! It honestly feels like this incredible weekend was just yesterday. I wanted to start off my "wedding series" with a post about my girls. I honestly feel like the luckiest person on this planet to have this group of ladies by my side. One of my favorite parts of the year leading up to the Big Day, was getting to see my favorite people so often! They traveled from all over the US for my bridal shower last September, planned the MOST AMAZING bachelorette party in Palm Springs in December, and then made the trek to New Orleans for the best weekend of my life. I seriously cannot thank them enough. Tearing up just thinking about how much I love these girls!
After a couple of days soaking up on of my favorite cities, New Orleans, we were so excited for a morning of pampering and a day of celebrating! We woke up to POURING rain (ahh!), had the most delicious breakfast catered by a dear family friend (aka my 2nd mom), got the mimosas popping, and began the primping!
We all stayed at the cutest Airbnb right off the French Quarter. It felt like we were back in middle school having a big sleepover party! I gifted my bridesmaids a mini spa kit with sugar scrub, face masks, bath bombs, and getting ready outfits. So many of my girls had stacks of robes from prior weddings, so I wanted to do something a little different. I searched high and low for something that would be easy to take off after hair and makeup, but still cute and comfy! I am talking HOURS on pinterest and etsy. I finally decided to break out my sewing machine and make them! I have sewn my whole life (even my prom and homecoming dresses!), so it was a lot of fun to make these for my girls.

My maid of honor, Molly, with all of her sass! haha

Luckily the rain cleared and we headed to the venue, the Old Ursuline Convent in the French Quarter, and snapped some photos before the ceremony.
I am a bit of a traditionalist and love the look of coordinating bridesmaid dresses! Having found my dress within 24 hours of getting engaged, I foolishly thought finding their dresses would be just as easy. Oh no! haha My goal was to find a dress that all the girls felt their best in. I wanted them to be able to dance all night, while feeling like a million bucks! I was also dead set on NO STRAPLESS dresses! haha After having the girls try every dress available from Atlanta to Oklahoma City, we finally found THE one. My MOH and I popped on down to OKC about the time I was convinced we were never going to find the perfect dress. We went to Prim, and had the most amazing experience. They have an incredible selection of dresses and the sweetest consultant. We tried this dress on a whim even thought it was, gasp, strapless. Boom. Done. Perfection.
The dress is the Kylie by Jenny Yoo in the color Chai.

I can't forget my sweet flower girl, Anabelle!
I cannot wait to share more photos and stories about our wedding with y'all! If you have any additional questions about bridesmaid stuff, let me know in the comments!
