Picpoul is a grape variety that is grown throughout the Rhone Valley and Languedoc regions of France. There are red and white versions of the grape. Today it is all about the white! [Fun fact: this grape is one of the major players in Noilly Prat, a popular vermouth.] Along with being incredibly affordable, this wine offers a soft, delicate nose, which is mimicked on the palate. It has acid and structure, but not overly complicated. Tonight we are frying up some catfish that Baxter brought home from Louisiana, and I think it will pair perfectly! If you don't have copious amounts of catfish in your deep-freeze like I do, then pair this wine with really any seafood. It would also be great alongside a cheese and charcuterie board. If you are looking to try something new, pick up a bottle! I think you will be pleasantly surprised :-)

Short and sweet post, but I am ready to enjoy a night off of studying... and this glass of wine! Cheers!
