The Perfect Apple Tarte Tatin

Y'all, FOUR INGREDIENTS! And it is sure to be the prettiest dessert in the holiday spread. I am so excited about my family coming to stay with us for Thanksgiving, so I have started trying out some new dessert recipes to serve while they are here. This apple tarte tatin recipe is definitely a winner! Incredibly easy and even more delicious!

The Perfect Apple Tarte Tatin

  • 4-6 apples, cored and sliced

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 1/4 cup butter

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.

  2. Pour sugar into sauce pan and add 2 tablespoons of water. Mix by swirling the pan, never stir.

  3. Add butter to sugar and water mixture, swirling pan to melt butter.

  4. Once butter is melted, add apples and cook until apples are slightly softened.

  5. Remove apples and continue reducing caramel until it is a nice light brown color.

  6. Arrange apples in concentric circles in tarte pan and top with the reduced caramel sauce.

  7. Place puff pastry sheet on top of the apples, trimming any excess and tucking the edges.

  8. Place in oven and cook until pastry puffs, about 12-15 minutes.

  9. Let cool and flip tarte onto a serving plate.

Enjoy!
