On the Bayou

I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend! I spent mine on the bayou in Louisiana. I remember when I moved to Louisiana half way through my freshman year of high school, and it was the hardest transition EVER. My second day of school was "camouflage day" and my only piece of camo anything was a bandana that I tied around my purse handle. I showed up to school and people were head-to-toe camo, neck heavy with duck calls, and face paint to match. I ran to the bathroom and called my mom crying begging her to let us move back to Tulsa. I would have never in a million years guessed that I would now look forward to days spent in the swamp!
I love trying new things, and this weekend it was shooting skeet! I don't know how I went 10 years living in Louisiana without ever trying this, but I had so much fun! And I wasn't that bad either ;-) We also did a little fishing and boat riding that day too. If you follow me on snapchat (lbessette), I am sure you got a kick out of the rest of our crazy day! It was so nice to spend some time with friends and family while soaking up some sunshine and fresh air. It should also be noted that my skin might fall off with the amount of bug spray I put on this weekend. Between the snakes, gators, and Zika-carrying mosquitos, the fact that everything in this state is capable of killing you is something that I do not miss!
Also, I have been wanting high-waisted Levi's for a while now and I finally got some! I am obsessed with them! They are so comfortable and flattering. I want them in every color!
What did you do for the holiday weekend?
